I love to go into work quite early if I could. I really love it when no one is there and the work place is still quite dark. Of course, the place is not in total darkness. The hall way lights and and the faint blue early morning light from the glass windows around are the sources of light that keep the place from complete darkness. The main light that lights up my desk is the light from the monitor sitting in front of me. It comes alive when I wake up the computer routinely in the morning. Β For a good while until others arrive and all the lights are turned on, I’ve found temporary peacefulness in the dark and from the place that I would not normally imagine would be possible. For such days, I feel I have immunized myself against any craziness from the rest of the day.
I hope you find peacefulness in some way in your daily life from time to time.
I’m glad you find these peaceful moments even on your working place, they are so important and help us get through the rest of the day. I also liked those moments during my studies when the library was still empty and I had all the books for myself π Have a lovely weekend!

That is a cool feeling isn’t it. It reminds me of the movie that few main characters woke up from hibernation during a long space flight. They enjoyed all goodies on the space ship all by themselves. I guess that was cool for a little while.
Please have a great weekend too.

An inspiring post, YC π Love that early AM peace and quiet!
On the flip side, I think it’s that same sense of quiet peacefulness
to which my night-owl self is often drawn π π Jackie@KWH

wonderful tulip, YC.
and I agree – going in some days early – is wonderful solitude.
I used to play classical music sometimes –
anyhow, hope you are doing well – and see you later after my blog break ends. peace

Tulips are everywhere at the moment, that’s so pretty! Did you photograph it in front of a black background? Such attractive light falling on it too! π
Well, it’s like Sunday’s again, that quiet still moment to start the day right, it’s great way to begin, with a bit of meditation. But do you ever feel lonely in an empty workplace… in the dark?

That sounds very nice that Tulips are blooming where you are now. I do not see them much this year. I think the winter was a little mild this year and that might have effects on Tulips (I am guessing here, I am no expert about plants).
Thank you Suzy π I took this picture a long time ago. I think it might have somewhat darker background than the Tulip. I think the main thing that made the dark background was that I used spot metering setting on the camera. The spot metering tells the camera to use very narrow spot (center here) on the picture to measure the light. The result is darker on other parts of the picture except the part that has the much brighter light on as this one.
I do not think I ever feel lonely in an empty workplace in the dark. I think the expectation of the workplace is busy with people and I like the contrast of that. I often do have slight regret when people start to show up though π

Staring at this photo makes me calm. I’d like to go into work early too, but we have a lot of early risers so it is not as quiet as your office π¦

I completely understand when there are other early risers there too. There are other earlier persons before me too but they are a bit further away from me. Thank you for stopping by.

Tulips are so elegant, and happen to be my favourite flower! I enjoyed reading your description of the quiet start to your day. I also enjoy an early arrival at work. A co-worker and I often sit in the room, without turning on the lights, working on our computers and the light coming through the windows. One feels almost like time has slowed, as much more is accomplished than arriving at the usual 9 -5 timeslot when the office are frenetic!

I totally agree with you. I remember my early morning office visits – how peaceful and organized life looked. Fun line – “For such days, I feel I have immunized myself against any craziness from the rest of the day.” π
