Souvenirs From Summer

“Have you been busy?   My dental hygienist casually started conversion as I began to lay down on the dental chair.  “Summer is short isn’t it?” She continued.

“I have. Oh,  yes, summer is short indeed.” I replied to her. Her questions got my mind lost in thought about this past summer.  It stuck in a loop trying to search for a big thing or two that stood out from this past summer. The seeming useless loop quickly ended once it heard her voice instructed me to turn my head a little bit for her. Yeah, the usual scare of dental operations was its new focus 🙂

Even there was no bit excitements, I definitely enjoyed this past summer very much.  There were few little and simple things that let me effortlessly flow with time. I don’t feel this summer has just passed by so quickly or I don’t feel that I am about to miss it as it was in the past years.

Seeing autumn has shown her signs, I definitely will miss long and bright days of summer but I will not feel strong resistance from missing those days.  Still, it is still good to have few nice memories from summer before moving deeper into autumn. These little purple flowers are souvenirs from summer. As a tradition  of traveling goes, it is good to have souvenirs from the places you visited.  Some things to remind you of those places or time.

    Amazing photo! I was amazed by the vibrant blue. I remembered this summer’s hot memories. There are many rainy days this fall. But I have fun.

    I like your title and often regard my captures as souvenirs when traveling. I don’t need anything from a shop. These are beautiful flowers and captures!

      That is a good idea. I have not thought of pictures taken from the places I visited are souvenirs. You are right they are! Thank you..

    Those purple flowers are stunning, YC. Summer here was just too short for me. It started late this year and it seemed I blinked and here it is Fall. I’m hoping next Summer is a bit longer. Lovely post!! Thank you!

      Once you mentioned that summer this year started late, yes I think that was true here as well. That might be one of the reason it felt short.

    It did seem like summer both went fast and didn’t go fast. It was a nice one one way or the other. The way spring started I thought it would be much hotter. Fall, on the other hand, seems to be blowing past like a racecar.

    Great photos, YC, and I too miss the colors and vibrance of summer…but the change autumn brings is also refreshing. The rain and cold of today makes me think otherwise, but even this is nice. You have a great philosophy: “…few little and simple things that let me effortlessly flow with time.” This is the best feeling and view of life, simply perfect especially on a day like today.     Hi YC – I am late to visit this post but wanted to wish you a happy new year.
    Also – I love how your purple flower photos have different focus – first photo is straight on and the next is soft focus to one side and then the third has the other side –
    It matched how you said your mind was working in different directions 😉

    Summers here have been so outrageously hot and humid that I am unfortunately very relieved when they give way to cooler temperatures. There is much joy in seeing the flowers, gardens and other Summer nature scenes, though. Your stunning purple flowers are the perfect example! Beautiful! 🌺
