A Stuff from A Nightmare

When I saw this tree, the first impression I had was it was a scare looking tree. It could be a thing that you ran into in your nightmare. The surrounding thick fog and still early morning light were probably the major factors contributing to its scariness. I saw it again not too long ago in a clear broad daylight and it is just a poor looking tree.

I do not remember that I’ve ever dreamed of any trees before. When I was a boy growing up, I recalled dreaming about ghost chasing me. Ghosts have not visited me in my dream for a long time now. I guess that is because I now feel that they are like you and me. Would it be nice to befriend one? 😉  My nightmares recently were more of getting caught in a repeat loop of thoughts that I was unable to break out. They are not scary (not at the surface anyway) but cause tiredness and restlessness later. I do not like that.

I hope this does not cause anyone a nightmare. The Halloween is coming soon. It is around the time we can talk about scary things a little bit. 🙂

    I can understand what you make it past.
    I agree with you, through tiredness and other things that influence in mind.
    I have ever the same situation, but then because my friendsl always told scary stories about large trees with their residents,
    but fortunately no more.
    This is a beautiful tree photo YC, lovely bandico colour. Amazing!

    Quite a tree and yes, I can understand how it could look haunting. The top almost looks like a nest made of the tree itself. Perfectly rendered in black and white.

    Haha, it really is 🙂 You got a beautiful foggy morning there to make this picture outstanding. There might be two reasons ( I cannot see well what it is exactly). Unusual growth can be caused by a parasite broom fungus.The branches start growing chaotically and get tangled. Another reason could be a parasitic plant mistletoe growing on its host:) Absolutely fantastic image.

      You know a lot about trees. I think you are right that the tree is sick somehow. It is still not in a good shape from what I saw it not too long ago. It is not in the environment that suitable for tree. It is a tree in a parking lot. Thank you so much for your kind comments.

    A very moody picture indeed!! 🙂 Reminds me a little bit of the movie ‘The Others’ – something about the mist I think! 😉 I’ve not tried taking any pictures on a misty morning yet. It can be very atmospheric if it’s captured right. Early mornings are not my best time though! :o/

    I know what you mean by dreams where you get caught on a loop. I used to have a recurring one when I was little, it seemed to convey something about God and the devil….heavy stuff for a four year old, I must have a strange mind at that age, and worrying about things I didn’t need to. It used to really upset me, not because it was full of horror, it wasn’t, just strange and repetitive. It was the never ending repeating that frightened me. Oh, so glad I don’t have that now. I hope your loop dreams leave you very soon, and you get some better quality sleep. 🙂

      Ah, you are not a morning person 🙂 Perhaps, someday when you just happen to wake up early and seeing fog , take a peak or snap few pictures (but please be safe) and morning might be your best time 🙂 I love morning hours and those morning nature things.

      That was quite heavy dream for a four year old. I am sure they must bother you a lot and especially they repeated from time to time. I would be frightened. I am glad you do not have it now. I do not have the loop dreams now. I meant the bad dreams for me these days are the loop dreams. Thank you very much, Suzy!

    It’s probably not scary on a clear day, but I can see what it would look a bit scary on a foggy morning.

    I wouldn’t like to run into this tree in my dreams. I clearly remember my most scary dream of all time. It was after reading Lewis Carroll’s ‘Through The Looking Glass’, that I dreamt I was being chased by the Red Queen, who was shouting, “Off with her head.!” 😯

    This is such a. Nice centered shot of this tree – it is cool with the fog or white sky and I know what you mean about the vibe here – not a tree with vibrancy or growth –

    How I’d love to befriend a ghost, so many questions to ask 🙂 Great shot of the tree, and at first glance, I could see the fear this tree would invoke, and then I thought perhaps it is/was a nest, and it is a tree of life.
