A Bench on The Lawn

For some reason I like seeing benches. I am a little bit drawn to them. This bench on the lawn of the neighborhood was arranged in an interesting way. The family seems to have a great imagination for having the bench with the duck and the ducklings figures near the bench on their lawn. When I see it, I can imagine the bench was near a small pond under the big tree. I would see myself setting on it in a warm summer afternoon. There would be waves of gentle breeze coming from the pond time to time. The tree provided just a perfect shade for only soft light through.  I would break bread in my hand into small pieces and throw them to feed the duck and the ducklings and watched them busily feeding the pieces of bread on the ground… A bench near the pond, it is.

A Bench on the Lawn

Have a great day.

What a find! Benches are such fodder for photos as no two seem to be exactly alike. Great capture.

I love the way the sunlight pours onto that bench, what a lovely picture of a very attractive bench, and looks like a pretty garden too, I’d love to sit there, have some and a chat! I like the idea of the duck sculptures walking past, very cute! I have an aunt who loves her flowers and garden benches too, I’ll have to suggest she get some ornamental ducks – thanks for the idea! 😀

I found a group page on Flickr purely for sharing your empty bench and chair pictures. I wonder what the attraction is for empty bench pictures? Last year I heard a BBC Radio Four broadcast about a park bench and all the people who had ever sat on it on regular basis, the things they were going through in their lives when they came to first sit on the bench, and how their life had changed. I thought it was a fascinating programme, also wondered if it would make a great story idea too.

Thanks for the beautiful photography, I shall dream about a bench like that now! 😀

I am glad you like the light on the bench. It was an evening sun and hopefully soft light. Sitting down, have some tea (my version is have some cookies 🙂 ) and a chat is a lovely idea!

That is so good that there is a group on Flickr for sharing empty bench and chair pictures. It is strange isn’t it for some people to like taking pictures of them. I know doors are another good one too. I have seen some good pictures of door.

      Thank you, Suzy!

Cookies would be good too, never have tea without them!! 😀 Yes, doors as well, I see a lot pictures on Pinterest for attractive doors. I guess they both create a positive feelings, doors – something new and unexplored. Benches – time to have a rest and enjoy yourself….with cookies and tea of course! 😉

Beautiful image and the story. Imagination adds more color to our life indeed. The owners of the bench love birds – look at that bird ornament on the back 🙂

I like your imagination with this shot ~ it is what a good photograph can do: transport one to a place where time stands still and it is just you and whatever it is you can dream. I’m with you in terms of seeing benches…always something inviting about them, as if they hold thousands of stories. Here you’ve caught this one is perfect lighting and bring a story to us. Beautiful.

Love this bench with its realistically positioned ducks!
It would indeed feel peaceful to sit there in the shaded
breeze with breadcrumbs for the ducks “by the pond” 🙂 ♥ ❤
