A Busy Snow Day (Weekend)

I thought this year there wasn’t any snow day.  Well, there was one that came during the night before but there was not really that much to be seen in the morning. I did not count that one. Today, it finally snowed for about a couple inches. That was about right to keep the tradition of the winter around here going (no more than this please). Despite the pouring snow, people were busy as usual or even busier …

Snow and Busy Weekend

It snowed!

Snow and Busy Day 2

The parking of the local supper market was packed.

The ground temperature was warm. The snow melted away quickly. I think that was a good thing.  I fear accumulations that turn into thick ice later.

Snow and Busy Weekend 4

Seemed like Christmas again.

Snow and Busy Weekend 5

Time to get inside.

We had a lot of snow in the middle of January, which was terrible!! You’re so lucky you did not have that much.
Snow is beautiful, I don’t like dangerous condition of roads after that, though.

I know how it goes when there are a lot of snow. I was hoping to be a mild winter without snow but it came. Yes, snow is beautiful to see. I also do not like the trouble it left later on.

Beautiful photos!!! I am ambivalent about snow, beatutiful to look at, and ski on, but scary when there is a blizzard or too much ice on the road…..

I completely agreed with you too. The snow just look good from far away. I will have to add to my book that it is also good for skiing. Other than these, I am also scared of it. I felt relieved to see there is no snow on the road this morning!

      Thank you Cindy.

I have never seen any snow before ^ – ^ you know, since our country has only 2 seasons – the dry and the rainy one . Snow sounds very romantic,to me ^ – ^

Yes, I know snow looks so charming. Having to deal with it in real life is just about the opposite. 🙂

my friend told me that the snow can become quite dirty , will it be 😦 ? ^ – ^ I hate the rainy season of my place, too , but when those day were gone , I turned to miss them , complex me ! Do you have the same feeling with snow , yellow cable ?

Your friend is quite right. Snow on the ground can turn quite dirty when it mixed with dirt. You can often see white snow with tainted with black dirt near the road side.

I think you can relate to rain. You can get wet and get dirty with rain too more or less for sure. 🙂

🙂 yup ,you are so right, having a walk under the heavy rain is definitely not a romantic idea for me ! But I won’t mind staying at home, holding a hot cup of tea and watching the world “taking bath”, the song of the rain somehow gives me peace ^ – ^ ! good luck with your snow, Yellow cable !

Thank you Saajida. IMO, I think if you have seen it real once (or may be a few times) then I am not sure you will be fond of it again. It is a bit of excitement seeing snow falling but that was about it. The concern of the consequence starts to come it soon after that.

I know this is a long time ago, but did you capture snowfall! It really feels so winter – which of course is almost absurd now in the middle of the summer. My favourite is the first one with people bending forward to protect themselves against the snowfall.

Ah, you like snow. Does it snow often in Ireland?

I believe it stayed but I do think it stuck around too long. There were 3 or 4 occasions that the snow packed and turned into ice and lasted for a week. I am glad you like them. Thank you.

These are beautiful photographs. No, there is no snow in Ireland, not every year. Just a little blanket on the top of the mountains, some snowflakes in the air and dirty pavement 🙂 . The previous snowfall was in the 1980-s, and the latest – in January 2018. 40 years between 🙂

That is the amount of snow I like. As we speak there are 6″ of snow outside around here. The roads are closed and flights are canceled.. Winter comes too soon this year.
